current and future watercirculation in the project

Future vision for water in the project.

Our aim is that the main water source will be a yet-to-be-drilled well with potable water. The water from the well will be pumped into various water reservoirs, from which we can irrigate the water into the fields through pipes and hand-dug irrigation canals. Various drip systems will be integrated throughout the garden. Water can be stored longterm for the summer months.

The current sources of water.

Natural water from north Morocco - received once or twice a year.

When it rains or snows a lot in the north of the country, the dams built in Ouarzazate & Adgz are opened and a part of the water can reach this region. This water runs slowly through canals and reaches our land several weeks later. We lead the water into our fields through several irrigationsystems.

1. The property

2. Rain- / melted snow water from northern Morocco running through the canals & irrigationsystems throughout the gardens.

3. Manually built water reservoirs, the future well & future water ponds.

4. The water is lead from the canals into parts of the land: the fields are filled with water for a few days. The palms drink and grass can start growing.

Regional rain - approximately 2 to 3 days a year.

1. Rain in the region.

2. With at least 2 days of heavy rain, the fields get watered thoroughly.

3. The fields stay wet for a few days, depending on the season.

4. The palms receive water and alfalfa and barley can grow again. The property changes from dry, barren land into green fields for a few weeks or even a month, depending on the temperatures.
